10BASE-T was incorporated in Toronto in 2002 by Jean-Louis Rivard. Originally a bricks and mortar architect involved in research and development with Silicon Graphics 3d CGI visualization tools, Jean-Louis was awarded by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada for his investigations of spatial perception, technology and digital media in Japan as a research fellow with the Japanese Ministry of Education. These same passions were then applied to the world of web technology, 3d software product development and intellectual property creation. The sale of his partial ownership of his first technology startup venture to AT&T Corporation provided the funding for his exit and focus on new product innovation with 10BASE-T.
